What is the difference between magnetic north, true north, military magnetic north, and military true north? | |
Answers:
1Well, true north is defined by the direction of the intersection of lines of longitude in the northern hemisphere. Magnetic north is where the pole of the Earth's magnetic field is, which wanders quite a bit, though stays generally in the same area as true north. I have no idea why military would use different definitions... nor how they could have a separate 'magnetic north'... after all, there's only one magnet to work from.
